ObjectiveTo study the clinical curative effect of point embedding therapy on insomnia with type of deficiency of both heart and spleen by clinical randomized controlled study method, we can evaluate its effect.MethodsIn this study, we chose and treated60insomnia patients with type of deficiency of both heart and spleen from Traditional Therapeutics Center of Guangdong Province Hospital of Chinese Traditional Medicine between May2011and December2011. Those who have met the criteria were randomly divided into two groups:the treat group and the control group。 Each group had30patients, The treatment group was treated by point embedding therapy one time a week, meantime the control group was treated by Guipi pills, taking10pills each time,3times a day. both two groups were treated2weeks. We observed two groups clinical efficacy, and record the treatment scores and post-treatment scores (the1st week、the2nd week and the4th week after treatment) we assessed the difference of treatment effect between the two groups by SPSS software statistics.Result1. After the treatment, the PSQI score and Chinese Medicine Symptom score between two groups has a remarkable significance (P<0.05).therefore the treatment group was more effective than control group in the sleep quality improvements.2. The difference on the sleep time between two groups, the results showed that there is a significantly difference on the1st week、the2nd week and the4th week after treatment (P<0.05). The result showed that the treatment group was more effective than control group in the sleep time. 3. After the treatment, the cure-remarkable rate of the treatment was93.3%, and control group was86.7%, there is a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05).The4th week after the treatment, the cure-remarkable rate of the treatment was93.3%, and the control group was83.3%, there is a significantly difference between two groups (p<0.05). Therefore, the treatment group was more effective than the control groupConclusionThis study showed that point embedding therapy is suitable for insomnia patients with type of deficiency of both heart and spleen, it has a better effect on the improvement of the sleep quality and sleep time aspect and worthy clinical application.
