Object:To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of therapy of the Spleen Qi deficiency Colon Slow Transit Constipation with Acu-Point catgut embedding treatment.Methods:Sixty patients with constipation(from March to January 2009) were randomly divided into Treatment group and Control group with each 30 cases,the Treatment group used Acupoint therapy of catgut embedding,the Control group used medicine Mosapride Citrate for two weeks.During the above-mentioned treatment,both two groups had to maintain a normal diet and give up all the drugs and other treatment methods against constipation.Record the number of defecation and the stool traits according to Bristol stool map everyday within a month-time period.Observe the change of clinical symptoms and signs of the two groups.Results:It was efficient on both Treatment group and Control group of the Spleen Qi deficiency Colon Slow Transit Constipation.In the two groups,there was no significant difference after two weeks of treatment,the apparent differences of syndrome appear in four weeks.The results from Treatment group are better than the Control group.Conclusion:Both treatments of Acu-point catgut embedding and oral intake of Mosapride Citrate have good effects to the Colon Slow Transit Constipation,but Acu-point catgut embedding therapy is superior to the Control group therapy in the overall efficacy and Syndrome improvement.It is indicated that Acu-point catgut embedding therapy has definite therapeutical effect for treating Colon Slow Transit Constipation.
