Efficacy Research On Elderly Neer Type Ⅲ Fractures Of Proximal Humeral Fractures Treated With External Splint Fixation

Objective:To observe and evaluate the shoulder functional score, range of motion (ROM), the healing time of fracture and fracture restoration received different treatments. The purpose is to find an optimal regimen with a better curative effect.Methods:60ceases of elderly Neer type Ⅲ fractures of proximal humeral fractures hospitalied by Foshan hospital of TCM, were divided into two groups according the treatment they received. Group A (n=30) was treated by manipulated reposition fixing with splint, and Group B was treated by open reduction and locked internal fixation.6month follow-up, Constant-Score scoring, range of motion (ROM), the healing time of fracture and fracture restoration, using the statistical analysis to evaluate the efficacy of two groups.Results:1. Patients were evaluated by Constant Score at6months. The score was significantly improved in group A (p<0.05);2. The ranges of shoulder in abduction, intorsion, anteflexion was better than group B(p<0.05), but there was no significant difference in extorsion, extension between two groups;3. The clinic healing time of fracture of group A was shorter than B(p<0.05), however, had no difference between two groups in osteal healing time(p>0.05);4. Group A were worse than B in fracture reduction.Conclusion:The method of manipulated relication with external splint fixation for treatment of the elderly Neer type III fractures of proximal humeral fractures reduce the incidence of shoulder dysfunction, promote fracture healing, is worth popularizing.
