ObjectivesTo assess therapeutic effect on warm needle moxibustion for the treatment of the cervical spondylopathyMethodsA total of60patients were diagnosed with cervical spnndylopathy to the diagnostic standards stated in Nation’s Diagnostic Standards, in combination with the patients’medical history, clinical symptoms and medical images. They underwent group-stratified randomization, which broke them down into treatment and controlled groups. The treatment group which totaled30patients were treated on warm needle moxibustion. The controlled group, which also totaled30patients, were treated equally but only on acupuncture. The two groups had treatment once every other day. A course of treatment was six times and both treated two courses.During the course of the treatment, the patients’clinical symptoms and change were observed, according to the Nation’s Diagnostic Standards and Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire The VAS Pain Questionnaire was used in this study to assess quantitative measures of clinical pain before and after acupuncture treatment.Result(1) The total effect of two groups was both improved. The difference between two groups was no significant (P>0.05). The treatment group had a total effective rate of96.6%and surpassed the controlled group which total effective rate is86.6%。(2) The scores of the VAS and NPQ(Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire, NPQ) between two groups was no significant before treatment; Both of them were very significant (P<0.01) after treatment.(3) The scores of VAS and NPQ of the two groups were significant before and after treatment. This means both of them can improve patients’syptoms after treatment.Conelusion1. The two treat groups also can alleviate the total effect of Cervical spondylopathy, but healing rate and improvement rate of the treatment group surpass the controlled group.2. The two treat groups also can alleviate the pain of Ccrvieal spondylopalhy, but the treatment group surpass the controlled group.
