Professor Huang Shixi’s Clinical Experience In The Treatment Of Primary Headaches With Fibrous Fire Needle Combined With Warm Needle Moxibustion

Objective:To summarize the clinical experience of Professor Huang Shixi in the treatment of primary headache,and to observe the clinical effect of fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on treating primary headache and evaluate its safety.Methods:Thirty patients with migraine and tension headache were included,treated by fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion.The study period was 18 weeks,the baseline period was 4 weeks,the treatment period was 2 weeks,and the follow-up period was 12 weeks.Treatment will be 2 courses,each course needs 6 days,acupuncture once every day.The main indicators for evaluating the efficacy were the change of the Visual analogue scale(VAS)at 1 week after treatment from the baseline,and the change of the VAS score of the headache before and after the first treatment;the secondary indicators included the headache score,Headache Impact Test-6(HIT-6 scale),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS).Result:Immediate analgesic effect:changes in the VAS scores of headache before and 0.5h,1h,and 2h after the first treatment in the two groups.The difference of the VAS scores in the migraine group between 0.5 hour after treatment and before,1 hour and 0.5 hour after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05),but the difference of the VAS scores between 2 hours and 1 hour after treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The difference of the VAS scores in the TTH group between 0.5 hour after treatment and before was statistically significant(P<0.05),but the difference of the VAS scores between 1 hour and 0.5 hour after treatment,2 hours and 1 hour after treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The effect of fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache is clear.Improvement in headache symptoms:changes compared with the baseline period in the VAS scores and headache scores at 1 week after treatment,4 weeks after treatment,and 12 weeks after treatment.In both groups,the differences in the number of headache episodes.headache degree,headache duration,and accompanying symptoms of patients compared with the baseline period,were statistically significant(P<0.05).It is indicated that fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache can effectively alleviate the headache degree,reduce the frequency of headache attack,reduce the duration of headache and relieve the accompanying symptomsImprovement of quality of life:the difference of the HIT-6 score between 4 weeks after treatment and the baseline period,12 weeks after treatment and the baseline period were statistically significant(P<0.05).It is indicated that fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache can improve the quality of patients’life.Improvement of emotional state:the difference of the SAS and SDS scores compared with the baseline period at 1 week after treatment,4 weeks after treatment,and 12 weeks after treatment were significantly significant in the two groups(P<0.05).It is indicated that fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache can effectively improve the patient’s bad mood and relieve their anxiety and depressionEfficacy evaluation:The total effective rate was 96.6%in the migraine group and 100%in the TTH group.The clinical efficacy of the fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache is clear.Safety evaluation:The incidence rate of total adverse events was 6.67%in both groups,and no serious adverse events occurred.It is indicated that the fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache is safeConclusion:Fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion is effective in improving headache degree,frequency,duration,accompanying symptoms,quality of life,anxiety and depression in patients with primary headache,and it also has safety,rapid-onset and lasting clinical effects.It is verified that Professor Huang Shixi’s experience of fili-fire needle combined with needle-warming moxibustion on the treatment of primary headache is definite and has a value in clinical popularization and application.
