Intensive research on chloasma plays an important and beneficial role to make improvements for convenient and effective treatment. The study employs the scrapping along with acupuncture point treatment on stagnancy of Qi and blood stasis type of chloasma, as well as evaluating the clinical curative effect.ObjectiveTo investigate the curative effect of scrapping along with acupuncture point treatment on stagnancy of Qi and blood stasis type of chloasma.MethodsCollect60cases of stagnancy of Qi and blood stasis type of chloasma from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Department and Dermatology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. All the cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with30cases respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicines through international quality system certification, orally taken vitamin C and vitamin E with3times per day for continuous3months. The treatment group was applied with scrapping along with acupuncture point treatment; each patient of this group was treated twice a week, given8times a course and observing the results after3courses of treatment. Compare the size, color and index of accompanied symptoms of chloasma between two groups. Observe the clinical effects and establish a database to apply statistic analysis with SPSS17.0.Results①Both therapies had definite effects. Scores of ages of patients, course of disease, shades, color, size and index of accompanied symptoms of chloasma in two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05).②Two groups have shown some improvements in the size and color level of chloasma after treatments. Furthermore, both groups have shown significant effects on low-grade and medium-grade chloasma, while the treatment group was particular outstanding to heavy-grade chloasma.③Both groups have shown positive effects on accompanied symptoms of chloasma. There is statistical significance (P<0.05) in the study of TCM syndrome after the treatments based on T examination result. While there is no statistical significance (P>0.05) after the treatments based on the Rank-sum test result.ConclusionBoth taken vitamin C and E treatment and scrapping along with acupuncture point treatment had definite curative effect on stagnancy of Qi and blood stasis type of chloasma. By contrast, scrapping along with acupuncture point treatment has better effect on reducing the size and the pigment degree of chloasma as well as accompanied symptoms. It can be considered that the effect in treatment group is better than that in control group. And this therapy conforms to the commonly acceptable ideas of convenient, safety and drug-free treatment in society with a wide application value.
