The Clinical Comparison Of Tinnitus Disease Treated By Acupuncture And Heat Sensitive Moxibustion

Object ive1. Observing the therapeutic effect of treating tinnitus disease using combinations therapy of acupuncture and heat sensitive Moxibustion.2. Observing therapeutic effect causing by different Traditional Chinese Medical syndromes.3. To discuss the mechanism of combination therapy.4. To provide clinical evidence for the combination therapy of treating subjective tinnitus disease.MethodsThis study randomly divided the60cases into control group and treatment group. The control group was applied acupuncture treatment, and the treatment group was applied combination therapy of acupuncture and heat sensitive Moxibustion. Then, Traditional Chinese Medical assessment, score of clinical symptoms, the observation of vertebral artery flow and basilar artery flow through the TCD and the result of pure tone test were compared between the two groups.Results1. Genreal information:There was no significant difference between thetwo groups considering age, sexual distinction, the affected side, course of disease and TCM syndromes.2. Therapeutic effect:6cases of the treatment group reached the requirements of recovery,17cases showed markedly effective results and7cases presented effective results while no cases had no therapeutic effect. The total effect rate of treatment group was100%. However, only3cases from controlled group reached the requirements of recovery.10cases showed markedly effective results and15cases presented effective results while2cases had no therapeutic effect. The total effect rate of controlled group was93.3%. And there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the therapeutic effect (P<0.05). There were four types of TCM syndromes which are Wind and heat invasion, disturbing upward of liver-fire, weakness of the spleen and the stomach. Liver-kidney deficiency,with the effective rate of totally100%accordingly in treatment group and with the effective rate of83.3%100%93.3%100%accordingly in controlled group. There was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05).3. Score of clinical symptoms:To the treatment group,there was a very significant difference between the post-treatment and the prior treatment (P<0.01). To the controlled group,there was a significant difference between the post-treatment and the prior treatment (0.01<P<0.05)). It means that the two kinds of methods both can improve the symptoms of subjective tinnitus. The post-treatment clinical symptoms score showed that there was a significant difference between the treatment group and the controlled group, It shows that the treatment group was superior to control group in improving symptoms.4. TCM syndromes:It shows that the two kinds of methods both can improve the symptoms of subjective tinnitus. TO the treatment group, wind-heat invasive and disturbing upward of liver-fire type had no significant difference (P>0.05), and the weakness of spleen and stomach, kidney deficiency type had significant difference (p<0.01). The disturbing upward of liver-fire type and the weakness of spleen and stomach, Liver-kidney deficiency type also had significant difference (p<0.01).But there was no significant difference between the weakness of spleen and stomach type, and the kidney deficiency type. To the controlled group, the four types of TCM syndromes had no significant difference (P>0.05)5. The observation of vertebral artery How and basilar artery flow through the TCD: there was no significant difference between the two groups which was without treatment (P>0.05),while there was a significant difference between the two groups which were post-treatment (0.01<P<0.05). To the treatment group,there was a very significant difference between the post-treatment and the prior treatment (P<0.01,also the same to the controlled group..Conelusion1. Treatment group using combination therapy of acupuncture and heat sensitive moxibustion had better therapeutic results than controlled group.2. When using the combination therapy of acupuncture and heat sensitive moxibustion, the weakness of spleen and stomach and the Liver-kidney deficiency type had much better therapeutic effect.3. Traditional Chinese Medical assessment, score of clinical symptoms, the result of pure tone test and the observation of vertebral artery flow and basilar artery flow through the TCD all affected the treatment results.4. Combination therapy of acupuncture and heat sensitive moxibustion could improve the recovery rate and strengthen patients’confidence. It is worthwhile continuing studying.
