Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of Hepatitis B from2004to2010in Qinghai Province, and provide the scientific basis for the Health Administrative Departments to develop strategies.Methods:The data of Hepatitis B reported from2004to2010from disease surveillance information management system was organized, and analyzed by using descriptive epidemiological methods. Result:There were a total of103,356cases of Hepatitis B reported from2004to2010through Disease Surveillance System in Qinghai province, the annual reported incidence rate respectively was182.02/100000,206.68/100000,220.22/100000,267.45/100000,325.83/100000,413.29/100000,267.52/100000, the average reported incidence rate of Hepatitis B was269.71/100,000, there was the highest incidence rate of413/100,000in2009, and the number of cases up to22,909in2009, however, the lowest was182.02/100,000with9821cases and90deaths in2004. The annual average mortality rate of Hepatitis B was0.03/100,000with5-21deaths reported every year.Overall, the number of reported cases showed an increased trend.The top three areas in cases number were Xining city with7904cases, Haidong Prefecture with2152and Hainan prefecture with1489cases, and the cases number of the three top areas accounted for50-60%. The top three areas in average incidence were Xining city with381.93/100,000, Hainan prefecture with343.57/100,000, Huannan prefecture with335.07/100,000. The lowest area in both annual number of cases and annual incidence was Haibei prefecture with476cases and159.32/100,000.According to the geographical conditions and characteristics, Xining City, Haidong prefecture and other6prefectures are designated respectively as urban, agricultural rural, pastoral areas, and the incidence rate in urban was highest (383.13/100,000), followed by rural(134.86/100,000) and pastoral areas(261.78/100,000). The highest mortality rate was also in urban (0.43/100,000) and the lowest was in rural (0.05/100,000).There were cases each month of2004to2010, and more cases accounted for9.63%were in Mach, the smaller number of cases in February accounted for6.92%, there were no obvious seasonal characteristics.The cases were mainly distributed in25-45age groups, accounted for57.07%of the total cases, the average incidence rate in the below15age group was47.28/100,000, accounted for 4.11%. Of the cases in the below5age group, the number of cases accounted for0.82%, with average incidence rata of25.49/100,000, there was a stable trend of incidence with highest incidence rate(30.37/100,000) in2004and the lowest incidence rate(20.06/100,000) in2007, and no obvious declined trend from2004to2007. Male cases(62,618) were more than female cases(40738)(x2=3641.82, P<0.01). Among all occupation, the proportion of cases of farmers is highest(29.53%), followed by workers(10.96%), Civil servants and staff(10.53%), herdsman(10.37%), Housekeeping chores(7.79%), students(7.18%), retirees(6.24%). The proportion of cases of teachers, preschool children was1-3%.Of the103356cases reported from2004to2010, there were93865cases of laboratory diagnosis accounted for90.81%,3742HBV carriers accounted for3.62%,75suspected case accounted for0.07%,5672clinically diagnosed cases accounted for5.49%.3742HBV carriers were reported as the cases of Hepatitis B, accounting for3.62%of total reported cases.Conclusion:1.It shows an increasing trend of incidence of hepatitis B in Qinghai province.2.There were the highest cases in Xining city, the cases were mainly distributed in25-45age groups, and there were no obvious seasonal characteristics of cases incidence, Male cases were more than female cases, the cases of farmers were highest among all other profession.
