Objectives:To investigate epidemical status of28counties that have the habit of drinking break-tea in Qinghai province in order to understand the regional distribution、the status of disease and the relationship between the habit of drinking brick-tea and the tea-based fluorosis, to provide the basis for decision-making of prevention and control of the tea-based fluorosis in QinghaiMethods:To investigate the regional distribution,the status of disease and the relationship between the habit of drinking bricking-tea and the tea-based fluorosis by the epidemiology methods According to "Scheme for Survey on Epidemical Drinking-tea Fluorosis", we carried out an customized investigation in28counties that have the habit of drinking brick-tea,3townships sampled in each county,2villages in each township,50adults and50school-age children in each village; at same time,1monk temple was sampled in each county,50clergy adults and50children in each templeThen we investigated the resident income the diet structure, the brick tea consumption and so on,and applied Dean method to diagnose dental fluorosis The patient number estimated based on the survey result The fluorine content in water was determined according to the "Standard Testing Methods for Drinking Water"(GB/T57505-2006); The fluorine content in tea and urine was determined F-ion selective electrode method(WS/T89-2006); Dental fluorosis was determined by Dean-method;Skeletal fluorosis was determined by "Diagnostic Criteria of Endemic SkeletalFluorosis"(WS192-2008)Results(1) Seven hundred seventy-five water were tested,the mean of water fluoride was0.26mg/L; Twelve hundred seventy-four tea were tested,the mean of tea fluoride was195mg/L;10303adult urine were determined,and geometric mean of urinary fluorine was1.52±1.24mg/L;Twelve hundred thousand three hundred and thirty-five urine samples of chirdren were determined, and geometric mean of urinary fluorine was1.14±0.85mg/L;10303adult urine in monks were determined,and geometric mean of urinary fluorine was1.49mg/L;Two hundred twenty-four urine samples of children in monks were determined, and geometric mean of urinary fluorine was1.73±2.24mg/L.(2) Detection rate of adult dental fluorosis in the villages and towns was24.11%(2494/10343), detection rate of dental fluorosis in monks was26.13%(203/777); that was no significant By comparison between them (x2=1.16, df=3,P>0.05). Detection rate of children dental fluorosis was24.38%(3012/12355),that of the children in monks was39.73%(89/224); that was statistically significant by comparison (x2=27.92, df=3, P<0.01). 95%confidence limit estimated a total numble of dental fluorosis patients were10843061134170persons, the median was1109238persons.(3) Detection rate of adult skeletal fluorosis in villages and towns was15.60%(17/109); that of the monks was488%(3012/12355); detection rate of dental fluorosis in monks was26.13%(203/777); that was statistically significant by comparison (x2=11.28, df=3, P0.05).The95%confidence limit estimated a total numble of skeletal fluorosis patients were309177-758199persons, the median was533688persons.(4) Eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine residents were registered,153335kg of brick tea was consumed in villages and towns,6.76kg per person; in1001monks investigated,4120kg of brick tea was consumed every year,4.12kg per person.(5) Economic income in pasturing area was higher than that of agriculture, half agriculture and half pastoral region and township; Staple food was bread flour primarily in Qing hai Province; among non-staple food, meat came first and milk followed, egg the last;The frequently edible vegetables was potato, cabbage and green pepper.Conclusions:The pastoral area and the half agriculture and half pastoral region were the Ward of drinking-tea type fluorosis, Agricultural area was the wards that it was mixed for drinking tea and drinking water in Qinghai Province;It was covering a large population,and the Degree of harm was more serious, Drinking break-tea type fluorosis was a serious public health problem In Qinghai Province,...
