The Clincal Study Of Visual Quality Of Eyes Implanted With Aspherical Intraocular Lens

Objective:To compare the visual quality of eyes after implantated with three different types of intraocular lens(IOL)(Acrysof IQ,IQ ReSTOR+3D and IQ ReSTOR+4D) and evaluate clinical effects of the IQ ReSTOR+3D multifocal intraocular lens.Methods:Random clinical study of50patients (61eyes) age-related cataract patients underwent phacoemulsification and IOL implantation. Acrysof IQ group with18patients (20eyes),IQ ReSTOR+3D group with15patients (20eyes) and IQ ReSTOR+4D with17patients (21eyes).At3months after cataract surgery, uncorrected distant visual acuity (UCDVA), best corrected distant visual acuity (BCDVA),uncorrected near visual acuity (UCNVA), best corrected near visual acuity(BCNVA), distant corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA),intermediate vision acuity (IVA),defocus testing, contrast sensitivity visual fields and patient questionnaires were observed. Results:At3months postoperatively, the UCNVA, DCNVA and IVA of IQ ReSTOR+3D group were much better than Acrysof IQ group (P<0.05).There were no significant difference in UCDVA, BCDVA and BCNVA (P>0.05). The IVA of IQ ReSTOR+3D group was much better than IQ ReSTOR+4D group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in near and distance visual acuity. The defocus testing showed the visual acuity at-2.5D～4D of IQ ReSTOR+3D group were better than Acrysof IQ group (P<0.05) also better than IQ ReSTOR+4D group at the visual acuity-1.5D～-2.5D (P<0.05). Contrast sensitivity showed that there was no significant difference in IQ ReSTOR+3D and IQ ReSTOR+4D groups(P>0.05).But at the highest test spatial frequency(18c/d), the contrast sensitivity between IQ ReSTOR+3D and Acrysof IQ groups was statistically significantly different. Visual fields showed all the subjects were in the normal range. Patient questionnaires showed that there was no unpleasant sight symptom complained among the three groups. The dependence on glasses in near vision between IQ ReSTOR+3D and Acrysof IQ groups was statistically significantly different. It was lower in the IQ ReSTOR+3D group than Acrysof IQ group. But the dependence on glasses was no significant differences between IQ ReSTOR+3D and IQ ReSTOR+4D.Conclusions:IQ ReSTOR+3D provided signicantly better intermediate visual acuity and a plateau of optimum near vision; effectively decrease the dependence of glasses; improve the visual quality after sugery.
