Treatment Experiences For Complications Of Abdominal Incisional Hernia Repair

Objective To explore the causes and treatment experiences for complications ofabdominal incisional hernia repair. Methods From November2004to April2012,fifty cases were treated with abdominal incisional hernia repair in our hospital and onecase was treated for complications after abdominal incisional hernia repair in anotherhospital,fifty-one clinical cases in total.Results The repair of fifty cases withabdominal incisional hernia repair in our hospital are all completed.During thatcases,three patients got the simple open repair;fifteen patients got the tension-freeopen repair;one patient got the simple laparoscopic repair;twenty-three patients gotthe tension-free laparoscopic repair;two patients got the laparoscopic auxiliary simplerepair;six patients got the laparoscopic auxiliary tension-free repair;and one patientfetched the patch and made the abscess drainaged after tension-free open repair inanother hospital. During the follow-up time of one to ninety-nine months,there are tenpatients(19.61%) got the post-operative complications:two patients(3.92%) hadinfection of incisional wound;three patients(5.88%) developed abdominal distension;one patient(1.96%) had intestinal obstruction and intestinal fistula;two patients(3.92%)had seroma;and two patients(3.92%) had pain of the abdominal wall.There are noperioperative deaths and no deaths.Conclusion The keypoint to post-operativecomplications is prevention,including the prophylactic use of antibiotics,gastrointestinal cleaning and respiratory training before operations;careful separation,correct hemostasis and positive anchoring within operations; unobstructed drainage,infection prevention,pressure dressing and as soon as possible to deal with abdominaldistension,seroma and incisional infection after operations.
