New Concepts Of Nursing Ethics In The Ecological Medical Model

Medical model is a theoretical frame in which human beings summarize theoverall principle，category，essence and features of health，illness，life and death.It is affected by the overall level of society，science and technology developmentas well as philosophy，culture background，and ethical conception in differenthistorical periods. In the thousands of years of human medical history，medicalmodels have been changed. Each change represents that the medicine hasachieved a higher development level and our human beings have a deeperunderstanding about health and illness. In history， medical pattern hasundergone spirtualism medical model，nature philosophical medical model，mechanistic medical model，biological medical model and the bio-psycho-socialmedical model.Dialectical materialism believes that motion is eternal， unconditional andabsolute，while static is temporary，conditional and relative. Hence，medicalmodel is not invariable and it can expand and update increasingly with the development of human society. Ecological medical model is generated on thebackground of exposure of bio-psycho-social medical model’s limitation，theemergency of ecological crisis and the thriving of ecological science.Itstheoretical bases include the “nature and humanity” ideology，scientificdevelopment perspective，ecological conception of nature and ecological ethicsideology. Ecological medical model is not a total negation to thebio-psycho-social medical model but a remedy for its lack of ecologicaldimensions. So，it surpasses the former existed medical model，provides newmedical care idea, points out the direction for medical treatment andpublic-health improvement, and at the same time， it enriches healthyconceptions and promotes the development of preventive medicine.Ecological medical model is a scientific medical pattern which isforward-looking and meets the times’ demand. From the perspective ofEcological medical model,thinks that human being’s illness and health can beaffected by the biological factors，psychological factors，social factors andecological factors which covers natural environment’s influence on health andillness. Its core idea is that health is not merely a state of complete physical，mental，and social well-being but also includes a harmonious development andgood interaction between human being and ecological environment. Theconnotation of ecological medical model requires the nursing ethics to updateconceptions and build ecological value，new healthy morality，ecological safetyand holistic nursing morality. Nursing has the integrative characteristics of theclinical care，preventive care，rehabilitation and education. Its content isvarious，and it is a very important component of the whole medical health work.While the nursing ethics is the moral principle of nursing care workers and has asignificant meaning in improving the care quality and coordinating the relationships between medicines，nursing and patients.Nursing ethics is closelyrelated to nursing practice and has a magnificent directive function on nursingfunction. The new nursing ethics idea which is led by ecological medical modelrequires us to review and adjust nursing ethics’ justice，nonmaleficence，beneficence and autonomy principle during the nursing, advocate the greennursing moral of “let nature take its course, the nature of Dow process”，andmake the relationship between nursing and patience get close to “You andMe”.
