Objective:To investigate the predictive value of the composite endpointevents for non-cardiogenic ischemic stroke by combining with Essen StrokeRisk Score and LAA subtype. Methods: This subject performed a retrospective case-only study, allin-patients with acute ischemic stroke were selected consecutively fromDepartment of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan Universityfrom January2006to December2007. Collected clinical data according tothe description of medical records of all cases, combined with the TOASTclassification type, exclude the cardiogenic ischemic stroke patients. All therest non-cardiogenic ischemic stroke patients underwent Essen Stroke RiskScore. Through telephone follow-up, we realize the composite endpointevents of1year later. SPSS13.0software was used to analyze the collecteddata, evaluate the value that forecast the composite endpoint events ofischemic stroke by combining with Essen Stroke Risk Score and LAAsubtype. Results: A total of277cases that meet the requirements were enrolledthrough the296cases.253cases were followed-up for1year.37cases ofcomposite endpoint events were happened (14.62%). In different ratingclassification of ESSEN score combining with TOAST classification system(<4,4-6), The risk of composite endpoint events were happened (χ2=3.885P=0.049). Combination of Essen Stroke Risk Score and LAA subtype to forecast of long-term prognosis effects of ischemic stroke is better than useEssen Stroke Risk Score only. Conclusions: Combination of Essen Stroke Risk Score and LAA subtype toforecast of long-term prognosis effects of ischemic stroke is better than useEssen Stroke Risk Score only.
