Compound Nervilia fordii was made of Nervilia fordii, Houttuynia cordata and Astragalusmongholicus, the reseaches indicated that the compound Nervilia fordii had a good effect on theporcine respiratory disease. This study explored compound Nervilia fordii granules preparationprocess and applications for weaned piglets. Firstly, this study was researching for the preparationprocess of the compound Nervilia fordii granules Secondly, this study was researching for theeffects of weaned piglets growth performance and blood parameters.This study used orthogonal test method to optimized the extraction of compound Nerviliafordii.The effective ingredient of Nervilia fordii, Houttuynia cordata and Astragalus mongholicuswere determined by the ultraviolet spectrophotometry in which reference standard were the rutin,quercetin and polysaccharide. This study aimed at investigating the effects of different accessorieson the compound Nervilia fordii granules, such as moldability, bulk density, angle of repose,melting rate and hygroscopicity, then using the method of comprehensive scoring screened the bestaccessories of compound Nervilia fordii granules; so taking the drug counseling ratio, theconcentration of alcohol and the drying temperature as the three subjects of the study foroptimizing the moulding technics of compound Nervilia fordii granules and proved the formabilityfurther. Finally, the results showed that: the best alcohol extraction process of Nervilia fordii istwice for extracting the10times the amount of85%ethanol,60minutes for once; the best alcoholextraction process of Houttuynia cordata is twice for14times the amount of75%ethanol,60minutes for once; the best water extraction process of astragalus mongholicus is twice for10timesthe amount of water,60minutes for once,the temperature of extraction is100℃.The bestaccessories for the compound Nervilia fordii granules is medicinal dextrin, the granularity checkscomplied with under the provisions of theChinese “Veterinary Pharmacopoeia”.This study was observed to investigate the effect of different dose of Compound of NerviliaFordii Granules on growth performance and physiological functions of weanedpiglet.Method Totalof40crossbred (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire) weaned piglets, the average weight of which was11.69±0.59kg, were selected and randomly divided into4groups for the control group(A)and thedrug group of high dose(B),middle dose(C) and low dose(D). Group A was fed with basal diet,group B,C,D were experimental group,respectively, fed with basal diet plus200mg/kg,150mg/kg, 100mg/kg of Compound of Nervilia Fordii Granules for a-week-trial. The animal clinical featurewere observed in other two weeks. The Growth Performance and the Hematology Parameter wereinvestigated by blood and weighing in0d,7d,14d,21d. Result The results showed that:Comparing to group A,①Supplementations with200mg/kg of Granules of Compound NerviliaFordii in group B had the significantly beneficial effects on average daily gain(ADG)(P<0.01);supplementations with200mg/kg,150mg/kg in group B and C respectively had the significantlydifference on average daily feed intake(ADFI)(P<0.05or P<0.01);group B, C, D had noobservably difference on feed weight ratio(P>0.05).②Group B, C, D had no obviously differenceon white blood cell count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, platelets and hematocrit of weanedpiglets(P>0.05).③Group B, C, D had no obviously difference on the content of aspartateaminotransferase, glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, alkaline phosphatase(P>0.05), there was thesame trend in the content of serum total protein,serum albumin, blood glucose, serum urea nitrogen,serum creatinine of weaned piglets(P>0.05);④Group B and C hadobviously difference on thecontent of IgG and IgM(P<0.05or P<0.01), Group B, C, D had obviously difference on the contentof IgA(P<0.05);⑤Group B, C, D had no obviously difference on the content of Tumor necrosisfactor(TNF-α) and interleukin(IL-4)(P>0.05), Group B, C, D had obviously difference on thecontent of interleukin(IL-2) and interferon (IFN-γ)(P<0.05).In conclusion, the preparation technology of compound Nervilia fordii granules was that: thebest alcohol extraction process of Nervilia fordii was twice for extracting10times the amount of85%ethanol,60minutes for once; the best alcohol extraction process of Houttuynia cordata istwice for14times the amount of75%ethanol,60minutes for once; the best water extractionprocess of astragalus mongholicus was twice for10times the amount of water,60minutes for once,the temperature of extraction was100℃. Then extracting with the pharmaceutically accepTab.dextrin pelleting as a ratio for5:4,using the85%ethanol as a wetting agent and85℃as the dryingtemperature; then using the compound Nervilia fordii granules in the diet would improve thegrowth performance and immune function, but had no effects for the blood routine and serumbiochemical indices.
