Lycoris radiates is an important kind of cut flower during summer and autumn. However, most of the them are limited in short vase life, yet the preservation research in cut flower is very limited. Former researchers are mainly focused on chemical compositions, such as Suerose,6-BA,8-HQ and GA3.On the other hand previous researchers almost focus on the determination of indexes such as vase life, flower diameter, rate of bloom, etc. Physiological and bioechemical indexes were less determined. With Lycoris radiates as the test materials, this experiment research for the effects of vase solution containing different free radical scavenging agent(benzoic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid and phytic acid)into basic preservative. On the bases of cut flowers were incestigated by means of measuring the rate of change of the fresh weight, cut flowers flower diameter,SOD and POD activity, superoxide anion, MDA, proline content and other physiological indicators. Moreover, effects of preservatives containing scavengers of active oxygen on ornamental qualities in L. radiates were discussed. The main results were shown as follows:1. Different categories and different concentrations of plant growth regulators had effect on vase life of L. radiates, increase the fresh weight of cut flowers and flower diameter of thickening, extend cut flower life and ornamental value.Comparing with CK,the vase life of cut radiata were distinctly prolonged by Benzoic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid and phytic acid. The effect of0.1%of phytic acid, ascorbic acid200mg/L, benzoic acid50mg/L and salicylic acid50mg/L were the best among all treaments.the vase life of cut radiata prolong1.35d,2.4days.,2.25d,1.7d.The flower stems diameter increases differently, which based on free radical scavengers. The effect of thickening shows:ascorbic acid100mg/L>salicylic acid200mg/L>benzoic acid100mg/L> phytic acid0.1%.Based on the effects of free radical scavengers to the quantity of their ornamental quality, it shows:benzoic acid50mg/L, and salicylic acid50mg/L> benzoic acid200mg/L and ascorbic acid200mg/L> salicylic acid100mg/L> phytic acid0.1%.Summing up the appeal, the benzoic acid50mg/L, and ascorbic acid200mg/Lwere the better treatment compared to other treatments in the aspects of the vase life and ornamental quality, followed by better salicylic acid50mg/L and phytic acid0.1%.2According to fresh-peeping effect and senescence mechanism research of preservatives, the result of some preservative shows better effects than Control.Effects of different kinds and concentrations of preservation are different in vasing.,in order to research for the effects of pretreatment in radiata and the mechanism of delaying senescence,.All of preservation can promote water absorbing, having obvious effects to preservation, increasing fresh weight, enhance the activities of SOD and POD,which can reduce the accumulation of MDA,maintain the stability of membrane.Salicylic acid100mg/L,and salicylic acid50mg/L could be effective for reducing the content of MDA, ascorbic acid100mg/L and50mg/L could inhibit the accumulation of proline, and improve water balance of cut flowers. Ascorbic acid200mg/L and150mg/L,benzoic acid100mg/L and50mg/L could effectively increase activities of SOD.Ascorbic acid100mg/L, salicylic acid50mg/L, and benzoic acid50mg/L could effectively increase activities of POD.In this research, effects of ascorbic acid of200mg/L-100mg/L, benzoic acid of50mg/L-100mg/L, salicylic acid of50mg/L and phytic acid0.1%are strongestEffect of200mg/L ascorbic acid is the strongest among the four kinds of vase solution on preservation of cut Lycoris radiata.
