Plenty of nutrient elements in the seed coat of rice are dislodged during milling. There is much of biological activity in the germinated brown rice, especially gamma aminobutyric acid GABA) increased manifold. The germinated brown rice was conceived as food with complete nutrition and special function. To clarify the genetic relations between hybrid rice (including F0and F1)and their parents in protein content of brown rice and GABA content of brown rice before and after germinated,5male sterile lines and4restorer lines were used to make20crosses by incomplete diallele cross(NCII) design. The results showed follows:1、Protein content in brown rice of most Fo and a small part of F1hybrid com binations is higher than the mean value of the parents. The protein content of F0in brown rice is mainly affected by the male parent, it also shows that pollen xenia have important influence on protein content in brown rice of Fo.2、Female line has the biggest contribution to the genetic variance of protein content of brown rice in F1, accounting for59.62%of the variation, and the contribution of parental interaction reached38.36%. In order to breed the hybrid rice enriched with protein, we should choose the female parent enriched with protein in brown rice.3、The content of GABA in the brown rice before and after germinated of F0and F1both have heterosis, and the germinated brown rice has advantage compared with non-germinated brown rice.4、The GABA content has high heritability, and the big difference between broad and narrow heritability indicates the nonadditive heredity have a great impact on the GABA content in F0and F1brown rice.5、The significant variance of the GABA content in the brown rice before and after germinated in F0is mainly due to parental interaction, but very little affected by male and female parent, it indicated that specific combining ability(SCA) variance and nonadditive effects have significant effects on the GABA content.6、There are significant difference among the F1hybrids on the GABA content in the brown rice before germination, the variance from the parents and parental interaction all reach significant level, but the significant difference of the GABA content in germinated brown rice is mainly due to parental interaction. 7、The restorer line28H130has no utilization value because the variance of28H130’s SCA and GCA of the GABA content in the brown rice before and after germinated in F0and F1both are very low, other restorer or sterile lines have different utilization value in different situations.
