Developed successfully tea garden management machine universal chassis has the vital significance for speeding up the tea garden management mechanization, reducing the management link expenditure, reducing labor intensity, enhancing our country tea competitive power in the international market. Based on Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Department plans and Jiangsu Province agricultural machine three projects "Design of tea garden management machine universal chassis", the first domestic machine crawler general chassis for tea garden management was developed. Full hydraulic was applied to drive and control working and walking device of the chassis. The chassis has functions with track adjustable, articulating the relevant equipment. the operator take the chassis by operating the corresponding joystick, can easily achieve deep loose, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying operation.Main contents and conclusions were as follows:1. Development and current situation of tea garden management machine were analyzed. According to tea garden terrain, the landform, the reason that overseas machinery was unaccustomed to domestic situation and technical shortage were summarized. Referring overseas successful design experience, the general chassis of tea garden management suitable for country was designed.2. The working principle and design method of each kind of mini-excavator hydraulic system were analyzed. According to the design requirements for this project, the hydraulic system of universal chassis was calculated and the product was selected. The feasibility of applying the small size running motor into this kind of chassis by the brake balance was discussed.3. Referring the design method of caterpillar track device, the main parameters of the universal chassis running gear were calculated. According to the calculated parameters, the running gear of this machine was designed.4. Using Pro/E software, the three-dimensional parameter model for controlling the device was established and given a virtual assembly. Besides, with the use of simulation module Pro/Mechanism, the control device was given the movement simulation. The results verified the correctness of transfer mechanisms bars.5. Using Pro/Mechanica module, the initial design of the rack was checked. The results showed that the rack strength was still abundant. Then, the rack was optimized to meet the strength requirements. Fewer materials were required for the optimization rack.6. The performance test of universal chassis mount was carried out in the field. The experimental results showed that the work performance of the machine achieved the desired requirements. It also proved that the universal chassis mount could articulate a variety of equipments.
