With economic globalization, virtual assembly technology is generated by the development of modern manufacturing industry and promoted by virtual reality technology. In order to win the position in the fierce market competition, it is necessary to accelerate the product development and shorten its design cycle. Compared with traditional assembly design, virtual assembly technology could satisfy the requirement of concurrent engineering, realize the product design for assembly and find out the design defects in time, and therefore the quality and efficiency of assembly are improved and the assembly cost is reduced.Through the research virtual assembly and its key technologies are studied, including modeling and process planning, and then virtual reality system is designed and developed based on rear-projection and passive stereoscopic projection, where header assembly is fulfilled.Firstly, the connotation, characteristic, status and classification of virtual assembly are discussed, the configuration of the hardware and software of system is analyzed, and then the key technologies are studied.Secondly, the component and presentation of information of virtual assembly model are studied, and assembly modeling is completed when its format is converted. And then a method is proposed by associating disassembly with manual intervention on the basis of research of virtual assembly process planning. Meanwhile, interference detection is researched.Thirdly, a virtual reality system is designed using rear-projection and passive stereoscopic projection technology, when the projector, screen, computer and external device are configured appropriately, and multi-projector control system is realized.Lastly, header assembly of harvester is assembled in virtual assembly environment as the application study. Based on virtual assembly modeling, assembly sequence is planned and disassembly motion is simulated to achieve the visualization of virtual assembly. |
