Potato is a worldwide economic crops, it is one of the world’s larger annual outputagricultural production too. China is the largest country of growing potato in the world. In recentyears, the development and popularization of potato harvester has great progress, but themechanization of potato harvest is in the low level. With the potato planting area continues toexpand, the needs of potato combine harvest machine is extremely urgent in China. It is one ofthe key links of tuber and root separation in combine harvesting,Because it is easy for roots tocause the transmission bar winding in the transmission process of the harvesting machine, so tosolve the separation of potato piece and roots and potato chips can smooth piece of conveyingeffectively, influence the work efficiency and the whole machine working performance andstability of economy directly. Therefore, it is an important and difficult task to development areasonable and usable potato combine harvester’s potato seeding separation devices.Seedlings separation is one of the major problems need to be solved in potato combineharvesting, potato seedling separation devices of4UFD-1400potato combine harvester weremainly researched and designed,including the principle design of potato seedling separationdevices and the structure design of it. We have already done mechanical analysis, winding grassbound film phenomena of the process in the combine harvest. The main components wereanalyzed and its intension was checked and the chain wheel of belt potato seedling separationdevice and the axis of elastic picking roller potato seeding separation devices were analyzed withsoftware ANSYS, and the mathematical model on kinematics of potato seedling separationdevices of4UFD-1400potato combine harvester was established. Based on this model, theinfluences of the obliquity of elastic comb pole pick roller of soil potato separation device,driving wheel speed, driving wheel radius and picking potato roller speed on potato separationeffect of seedlings were analyzed respectively. Through theoretical analysis and the fieldexperiment show that the structure design of potato seedling separation devices of4UFD-1400potato combine harvester is reasonable, the potato seeding, weed and film separation effect isgood and the damage to potato is small, the working performance is good and reliability, it canreach the potato harvest agricultural demands, the research made a basis on further optimizedesign of the whole machine.
