Motors are extensively used in industry, agriculture, national defense, science andtechnology, social life and so on. A variety of factors result in a series of motor vibrationsduring operation. Overlarge vibrations have a bad influence on the stability of motor controlsystem and normal operation of devices, shorten service life of equipment, and even threatenlife and property security. Therefore, motor vibrations are paid extensive attention duringoperation. Currently a large number of studies of motor vibration are about motor faultdiagnosis. These are through finding out and clearing faults that motor vibrations can bereduced. However, in this paper, the effect of vibration suppression is based on differentcontrol algorithms. In this article, motor is controlled by inverter, and the influence of inverteron motor vibrations is analyzed.First of all, the background and significance of this paper are briefly described.Developments of frequency control, studies of motor vibration and application of virtualinstrument are summed up. The main content and frame of the paper are introduced.Secondly, hardware and software platforms of AC speed regulation system are detailed.Hardware platforms are including: parameters of motor and inverter, signals acquisition ofspeed, voltage, current and vibration and the signal output of control current. Softwareplatforms based on LabVIEW are including: implementation and debugging ofPI αcontrolalgorithm based on BP neural network, programs of signals acquisition and spectrum analysisand program optimization of vibration data acquisition.Furthermore, according to AC speed regulation system in this paper, frequency controlfundamental principles are analyzed. The output voltage harmonics of inverter are analyzedand the harmonic torque theory of induction motor are put emphasis on.Finally, spectrum analysis of motor vibration data and stator current data are carried out,and comparative analysis of these spectrums is done. In the first place, motor vibrationspectrums are compared with stator current spectrum at the same experimental condition, andthe correlation of their amplitude-frequency characteristic is analyzed. In the second place,vibration and current spectrums ofPI αcontrol algorithm are compared with ones of PIDcontrol algorithm, and the superiority of motor vibration suppression ofPI αcontrolalgorithm is analyzed. In the last place, current spectrums at main frequency of stator currentare compared, and the reason of motor vibration suppression ofPI αcontrol algorithm isanalyzed.
