Electrical machine can convert electric energy into mechanical energy, and it is used widely in the modern society. Recent years, with the development of power electronic technology and high-speed digital signal processor, there are more and more variable voltage and variable frequency control algorithm.Virtual instrument technology is the product of combining modern computer system and instrument, the theory of which is using the function of computer to simulate and extend the traditional instrument, and to collect, handle, save and display the signal. Compared with the traditional instrument, virtual instrument has such advantages as easy to realize, high flexibility, expandability, cost performance and friendly interface.The main research contents in this paper is the drive and control of induction motor based on virtual instrument. The drive and control system adopted multifunctional data acquisition card PXI-6733and Lab VIEW. The speed control of induction motor was studied based on the system, and its precision was also analyzed. Then the vector control theory was deeply studied, the SPWM forcing function generator and SVPWM forcing function generator were realized by LabVIEW programming. Finally, the results of frequency modulation by the two signals were comparative and concluded.
