The Analysis Of Public Transportation Competitiveness Based On Travel Cost Measurement Model

In recent years, with the development of economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, the level of road traffic has greatly improved in whichever size cities and traffic patterns has changed greatly as well. Travel mode gradually diversified and the individual transportation develops rapidly with the development of science and technology. Private cars, electric bicycles and buses gradually become the primary mode of urban trips with their respective advantages.The development of individual transportation meets the needs of the personalized travel demand, but also brings a lot of social problems. With the number of private cars increasing rapidly, the problems of urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution are worsening and gradually evolves for hindrance economic society sustainable development issue. Although the electric bicycles have advantages of high speed and low pollution, the traffic safety issues have always been neglected. In order to solve these problems, we should make great effort to develop the public transport. The purpose of this paper is to solve the problem that how to make people choose public transport voluntarily. In details, the author compares buses, private cars and electric bicycles and then studies how to enhance the competitiveness of the buses.First, reading massive domestic and foreign related literature. The author analyzes and summary domestic and foreign scholars’methods and theory in the trip mode, and then comparative advantages and disadvantages of various research methods. By learning economies of urban traffic, the author know the accounting methods, theories and advanced experience of the travelers’travel costs both in and out our country. Based on this, the method of analysis of trip mode competitiveness by the standard of the synthesis travel costs has been made.Second, learn the theories and methods of trip and psychological investigation, and establish questionnaires according to travel cost integrant part. Organize a psychological investigation about Jinan residents’choice of choosing which kind of transportation, and then compile and analyze the results, find the residents’concern of the various cost elements in choosing their trip modes. In addition, collects the basic data of Jinan City’s per capita disposable income, average vehicle speed, and number of trips per capita.Third, according to survey data, separately for travelers using buses, private cars, electric bicycle travel costs are measured, drawn at different distances, buses, private cars, electric bicycles under different operating conditions of the travel costs, and further analyze it, identifying factors affecting competitiveness.Finally, under travel cost analysis, an in-depth study of public transport of results to improve the competitiveness, and combined with the advanced experience of other cities on the basis of, propose specific measures to improve the competitiveness of the bus.
