The Research On Travel Costs Of Mass Transit In Main Urban Area Of Chongqing

Public transport system is the core part of urban comprehensive traffic. Theexperience of the metropolis’ urban traffic shows that the priority of public transportdevelopment is the main method of mitigating traffic pressure and also the primarystrategy of sustainable urban transport. As the transport space and facilities are limited，how to make a scientific allocation of transport resources is necessary to publictransport priority，so it is needed to make a quantitative analysis of the urban publictransport travel costs.Firstly, the thesis makes a literature review of the transport travel cost studies, andit then researches the theory of public transport travel cost including the connotation ofurban transport cost and classificationof public transport cost which includes users’ cost,providers’ cost and social cost. Based on the literature and theory review, the thesisbuilds quantitative models of users’ cost, providers’ cost and social cost and acquiresdata by making Chongqing public transport travel questionnaire investigation,According to the quantitative calculation model of each part of the cost, the thesismakes a quantization of the bus transit and rail transit costs of Chongqing, thencalculates the total cost of.public transport travel.Finally, on the basis of analyzing the travel costs of public transport of Chongqingfrom the angle of sustainable urban transport, learning from the advanced experience ofreducing travel cost of public transport both of domestic and international cities，combining with the requirements of “public transport-city” and status of Mass transit ofChongqing，the thesis put forward countermeasures and suggestions on reducing thetravel cost of public transport from an economic point of view.
