Theexperience of the metropolis’ urban traffic shows that the priority of public transportdevelopment is the main method of mitigating traffic pressure and also the primarystrategy of sustainable urban transport. As the transport space and facilities are limited,how to make a scientific allocation of transport resources is necessary to publictransport priority,so it is needed to make a quantitative analysis of the urban publictransport travel costs.Firstly, the thesis makes a literature review of the transport travel cost studies, andit then researches the theory of public transport travel cost including the connotation ofurban transport cost and classificationof public transport cost which includes users’ cost,providers’ cost and social cost.
