The Research On The Kitchen Environment Design Based On Universal Design

How to solving the difficulties and obstacles encountered by the senior citizens and the disabled and other vulnerable groups in the modern social life has increasingly becoming an important task for the construction of civilized society and democratic state all over the world. In China, the concern of aging population and the interest of the vulnerable groups are receiving more and more attention. Against this background, a kind of humanized and sustainable research that aimed at all sorts of problems in kitchen environment design which based on the concept of universal design has becoming more and more meaningful. This research is not only complied with the development trend of Chinese universal residential construction, but also actively promotes the pace of building a harmonious society in China.In this thesis, senior citizens and the disabled who represented the special group are treated as target population, kitchen environment of common housing is treated as research object. In view of all sorts of difficulties and barriers to the use of kitchen environment, it makes a layered research and analysis that combined with users’usage requirements and psychological need. By the guidance of universal design theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and design psychology and much other correlation theory, through in-depth interpretation and analysis of universal kitchen environment design, the thesis puts forward some design philosophy and design strategy and design implementation of content in order to meet the needs of humanity. At the same time, the emotional design of the kitchen space is improved, the mental function of kitchen space is expanded, to make sure it can meet the maximum satisfy requirement of the user.The notation of the thesis is divided into four parts:firstly, statement of the background; secondly, elaboration and analysis of the correlation theory and the related issues; thirdly, solutions and implementation plans of the research; fourth, the combination of theory and practise.
