Abstract/Summary:
With the widely spread of computer application technology, the ship design must join the3-D digital design ranks. The ship integrated design includes the determination of ship principal dimensions and ship form coefficients, the design of ship molded lines and equipment layout, the calculation of ship performance and so on. This article aims at the study of3-D visualization design technology in the various stages of the ship integrated design from the perspective of3-D digital design, using advanced development technology of Solidworks and VB programming language. The jobs finished are list as follow:1. Main hull surface design. Some methods of ship molded lines design, such as Scale transformation method,"1-Cp" method and Migration method are applied to the3-D main hull surface design, getting the new main hull surface with the right main principal dimensions and form coefficients, then processing molded lines drawings and hydrostatic calculation of the main hull in order to get the hydrostatic properties, the lines plan of CAD and frame lines plan.2. General arrangement design. After finishing the design of main hull surface,using the technology of digital modeling to accomplish the design of superstructure and bulkhead, the divided of cabin and channel design; finishing the arrangement of ship equipment, doors and windows, ship-borne weapons, and the design of stair with the help of the technology of database and assembly, getting the list and weight distribution of marine equipments. Finally, using the interference check technology to make sure everything is arranged properly.3. The3-D visualization demonstration of ship model. The content of ship demonstration technology mainly includes3-d multiple-perspective display of the ship appearance, the feature of main hull surface, the shape of superstructure, the subdivision, the design of the channel, the equipment arrangement, the style of compartment, and browsing some information of the ship, such as hydrostatic properties.4. The development of database system. Build four databases for the system, includes parent ship database, ship equipment database, ship-borne weapon database and new designed ship database. The parent ship database provide main hull surface for ship design, the ship equipment database and ship-borne weapon database provide equipment models and data for ship general arrangement, the new designed ship database provide3-D ship models for ship visualization show.
