Application of visualization design and computer simulation construct technology on digital arch dam is popular in current hydroelectric profession. In this thesis, the total aim is to construct three dimensional hydroelectric project. The advanced and mature three dimensional software of CATIA in mechanical domain has been applied on civil engineering, the combining site between interdisciplinary study has been explored. Based on unified database foundation of CATIA, three dimensional visualization design of arch dam has been realized by secondary development, the simulation of computer concrete construct process has been accomplished, the system of visualization design and concrete construct simulation has been constructed. Using the developed system, analysis and simulation on arch dam can be executed by the simulated prototype, and feedback in design process can be gotten. The following accomplishments are acquired on the base of research in this thesis:1. Based on the idea of knowledge engineering, according to request of arch dam design standard, using technology of parametric, combining method of secondary development which CATIA provided, mathematical model expression way of arch dam has been studied, the method of parametric modeling based on the characteristic has been proposed, and automotive parameterization design has been realized.2. Dam divided and essential data obtained automatically through secondary development has been completed. According to design standard and using API function of CATIA, automatic division of the dam has been accomplished with the data provided by designer, using automatic data obtained, the arch dam is expressed discrete, the problem of tediousness to manual gain data has been solved, and these datum are applied in the process of simulation.3. Logical relation between constraint condition and state variable of arch dam construction has been studied with simulation technology of discrete system, the mathematical model of construction has been established, the visualization process of arch dam constructed has been realized, with the computer simulation system, the multi- plans computation and synthesis judgment are carried on,further more, the final control goal and controlled parametric of the system have been determined =4.
