Since the reform and opening-up, the education of our country began to transfer from exam-oriented education to all-around-development education and open-education. Out of School Activity Places is a type of necessary social agency, which is main places for all-around-development education, taking the important responsibility of cultivating the talents of the new century. At the same time, our country has published relevant policies to support the construction of Out of School Activity Places, a large amount of Out of School Activity Places began to be built from then. So, we could see the future of Out of School Activity Places. However, China’s current Out of School Activity Places can hardly meet the needs of200million youths, both in scale and environmental construction.The construction of China’s current Out of School Activity Places are at a preliminary stage of development. Few studies are about this aspect. There are still plenty of problems about management and policy. Studies are lack of universality and practicality, as well as the concern for adolescent psychology and environment, resulting the construction cannot catch up with the development of the times.This paper taking the Off-campus Education Building as study object, and the space of Out of School Activity Places are the main research content. By field investigation in Out of School Activity Places in Dalian city and analysis of excellent cases in China and abroad, finding advantages and disadvantages of the existing Out of School Activity Places. Besides using theories such as Environment-Behavior Studies and Child Psychology to summary the types, management model, space layout model, methods of designing spaces, spatial characteristics, as well as the relationship between behaviors and spaces, building a theory which is multi-level, multi-angle, as well as complete, about space features in Out of School Activity Places. Making a preliminary research about a kind of design theory suitable for our country’s Out of School Activity Places for youths under new education model. Researching ideal space model for the future. This research makes a combination of theory and practice, hoping to providing references for future research and construction.
