With the rapid development of power grid and the increasing demand of power supply quality, it is a must for power sector to enhance the reliability of power supply and optimize the power quality. As the important switch gears in power system, vacuum circuit breakers are so irreplaceable that they control circuit and cut off the short circuit current to protect the system. In recent years, the hot permanent magnetic actuators get rid of the defects that of the spring operating actuators and the electromagnetic actuators, and they have the advantages of simple structure, few moving parts, low failure rate and great matching with the vacuum breaker. They can greatly increase the reliability and controllability of vacuum circuit breakers and provide the hardware foundation for the reliable operation of power system.The researches for intelligent control of PMA for vacuum circuit breaker are very little. And the country is committed to building the smart grid. Then the intelligent power switch is bringing urgent requirements. So it is important significance to study intelligent control of the PMA for vacuum circuit breaker in the current market and technology situation.The main jobs about single-stable PMA for vacuum circuit breaker are below. Firstly, based on Ansoft Maxwell software, the simulation model of single-stable PMA is established.The static and dynamic characteristics of the open and closing coil are analyzed and calculated in magnetostatic and transient field. Secondly, as the control object, the simulation model of PMA is established on Simulink software with load data in magnetostatic field. The position of the moving core is handled as the control parameter which can be tested continuously, fed back to the controller and controlled through voltage signals from PWM wave generates. The current is controlled by voltage signals to generate magnetic field around the coil and convert into electromagnetic force to act on the moving core for making corresponding actions. In order to reduce the influence of outside environment and its parameters, an adaptive control method is put forward to tune parameters through fuzzy controller. In this way, the purpose of the intelligent PMA will be reached.
