Nowadays, after years of the Chinese auto markets opening, the competition inthe market has become more and more intensive, especially the own brand vehiclemodels are under the unprecedented impact and pressure. Technological innovationhas become an important means for each independent brand to break through thebottleneck. FAW Car Company is on the way of independent researching anddeveloping MPV models, but due to the late start of such models in China, the limitedmature experience and database, while countries crash safety performancerequirements for such models has increased annually, the design and developmenthave become more and more difficult. By the pressure of the technology and market,this thesis makes a breakthrough of the enterprise’s innovation by analyzingbenchmarking deeply.This thesis cites the advanced way of the benchmarking abroad, introduces thecurrent situation of the benchmarking domestic and overseas simply, describes thestatus that benchmarking only focuses on cost, model, equipment in China, but lack ofthe cases about instrument and optimizing. The thesis develops the step, flow, keytechnology and measure of the benchmarking, then makes internal benchmarking’scase aplenty, supports precious experience for people. This thesis refers to many areas,such as the technology of benchmarking, reverse, CAE, the knowledge of riskyproject management, TQC, flow rebuilding and so on. Strengthen the using ofbenchmarking by citing analogy way and connecting CAE and experiment, makesbenchmarking achievable and operably, it will be used widely.Benchmarking has been widely used in the field of foreign engineering. Its workis to analyze the competitive models, and strive to fully surpass the benchmark modelin the newly developed models, but wrong applications and misunderstanding as fastreverse or plagiarism still exist in China. The purpose of this study is, through the useof advanced benchmarking methods and in-depth study of similar foreign advancedmodels to achieve collision C-NCAP5star level requirements (new version) based onthe existing MPV platform models. This article focuses on how to use this means ofinnovative technologies to select targeted benchmark car, as well as organizing theproject team to disassemble the benchmark vehicles, to reverse, to do scanning,modeling and CAE analysis, and through the deep study of superiority of models in anti-collision performance to optimize the body structure of the developed models,and applied to product development. This Article also describes the use of projectmanagement and other means to achieve the combing, recycling and optimization ofbenchmarking process. In the procession of flow’s reformation, the work diagnosesexisting fault, removes existing ranks and details which needn’t, combines all of workin order to make the project’s cost, period and quality have a better balance point. Thethesis introduces the risky parts of the technology and management which should befocused by benchmarking, enforcing technology ensures the project’s quality, project’speriod and cost are ensured by identification and achievement of risky management.At last, it has concluded the normal benchmarking processes and significance, and itgives us the application prospects for this product area in the car companies in thefuture. Only connect acknowledge management and benchmarking well and build thethorough processed can make benchmarking work wonderfully, and just in this waybenchmarking will be used in product’s research and development really.Successful project relies on system’s management, all people in project have onesame aim and organization which has good skill and ability, what’s more, resource(includes time, money, equipment and people) must be enforced. Running theory ofmodern management based on risky management which uses mutuality theory andway in benchmarking deeply. For the real situation, scientific method can decrease therisk. Therefore, using stormy brain way, acknowledge of risky management, allpositive and effective way to deal with the problem which break out in project.
