With the continuous exploration of the oceans by mankind, the3D sonar imaging is becoming an important underwater detection technology. By2304(48x48)-channel signal synchronous sampling and large-scale data processing of16384(128x128) space beam forming, the3D sonar imaging system finish real time3D imaging. The complex structure and the vast amounts of data of the system greatly increased the difficulty of debugging and testing of3D sonar imaging system. The3D sonar imaging system special testing platform can simulate the actual working environment of the3D sonar imaging system, thus completing functional debugging and performance testing of the3D sonar imaging system. To solve the problem of difficult system testing, the3D sonar imaging system special testing platform, which is based on the DDS technology and the TVG technology, is designed and implemented. The platform chooses the PowerPC as the core controller, which controls the DDS chips and the TVG chips to generate the sinusoidal signals of adjustable phase, frequency and amplitude, through the FPGA. At the same time, the PowerPC controls the AD chips to sample the signals through the FPGA as well and uploads the data to the host PC through the Ethernet. In this way, the data is compared to that is processed by the3D sonar imaging system and the system testing is finished. The results show that the frequency of the output signal of the platform ranges from100to500KHz, the amplitude gain reaches more than40dB, the phase ranges from0°to360°. The amplitude consistency of the sampled signal is less than1dB and the phase coherence is less than1°. It basically meets the demand for3D sonar system test and has high engineering practical value.
