The Use Of Installation Artworks In Interior Public Space

Nowadays with the great improvement of social material life, people have a stronger yearning for spiritual life that they no longer take satisfaction in the daily functional space environment but expect for an interior space which is modernized, artistic and individualized at the same time. As in current interior public space design many designers tend to employ the installation artworks that highlight artistic sense and visual effects as furnishings and successfully integrate them into the interior public space, the space becomes uniquely artistic and individualized. The installation artworks coming from installation art is a special type of interior furnishings. Compared with other conventional works of art, it is much more artistic which can not only elevate the special atmosphere of the interior public space but bring to it a unique furnishing effect.This article gives an introduction of how installation artworks are applied in an interior public space. It analyzes and summarizes the relevant concepts of installation artworks as well as the composition techniques of art from different perspectives; reorganize the presentation modes used in applying installation artworks in the interior public space; and further explain the value and significance of installation artworks for the interior public space from the perspective of display design, in the hope of theorizing and systemizing the application of installation artworks in the interior public space. It is a new attempt to explore the development of the interior public space design.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts. The first part deals with the research background of this study starting from the phenomenon of installation artworks being used in the interior public space and further involving the specification of research contents, perspective, methodology and significance. The framework of this thesis is also set up in this part. The second part is devoted to the identification and elaboration of those concepts related to interior public space and installation artworks, giving a preliminary summary of the characteristics and categories of installation artworks. The third part is a deeper analysis of installation artworks, covering the detailed research on the composition techniques of art reflected in this design phenomenon. The next two parts elaborate on the use of installation artworks in the interior public space through a study of a series of existing cases, and moreover depict the trend of the development of installation artworks and their value in the interior public space. In the last part, some serious thinking on how to promote the virtual application of installation artworks in the interior public space is made. It is hoped that this study can be viewed as a new inspiration and cognitive perspective on the interior public space design and it calls for the designers to pay certain attention to the artistic presentation of the interior public space.
