Design Of Intelligent Multi-user Energy Meter Based On ZigBee

With the rapid development of the urban residential construction in ourcountry, the number of energy meters in the building is increasing day by day.The disadvantages of the way to form the wall of energy meters that isconstituted by the energy meter from every family in the past are large volumeand high cost, which lead to be against the management of the centralized andhigh-precision measuring electricity and need of intelligent controlling. Theintelligent multi-user energy meter is made up by the dedicated energymeasurement chip and high-performance single-chip microcomputer. It achievesto measure electricity consumption from many users separately and deal with thedata together, and build a wireless communication network based on ZigBee toachieve remote automatic collecting of electricity and load controlling.It is the key for the system design in the aspect of the measurement accuracyof the energy meter, the reliability of the energy meter and the accuracy of thecommunication data. The single-phase, multi-function, anti-theft and dedicatedchip RN8209is chosen for the measurement part in the paper. The error of theenergy meter in the dynamic range of1500:1and the demand of the accuracy isless than0.5%through the analysis and design of shunt and voltage channelparameters, the ability of anti-electromagnetic interference and the anti-theft.PIC16C65B microprocessor is the core in the intelligent processing unit, whichcan achieve to the functions of collecting and accumulating the electric pulse,processing and storing the data, and showing electricity consumption. And itcollect with RX8025clock chip to achieve the functions of multi-rate pay andcontrolling of maximum demand. It applies ZigBee communication technology,and uses CC2430RF chip to build district electric energy meter network system, which convenient for the department of power electric management to collectreal-time data and monitor to the residential electricity consumption. The tablehas RS485communication interface and collect with the remote device, whichcan receive the command of CPU, achieve the controlling of relay switch of eachuser according to the situation of the pay of each user. At the same time infraredcommunication interface circuit is designed, which can use the device of infraredhandheld reading to achieve the function of automatic of reading data in somearea of not having the network.In the aspect of software, it uses the design of C language of the PICmicrocontroller, and details the design including pulse test and data processingmodule, the maximum demand, and display modules and communication module.Intelligent multi-user electric energy meter use the MCU processor as thecontrol core, its advantages are the low cost, small volume, easy installation,good scalability and so on. It meets the need of management of modernelectricity supply network and intelligent management of district.
