Research And Design Of Automatic Meter Reading System Based On ZigBee

Automatic meter reading system is a kind of automation management system which can transcribe the data of customer's electric meter without artificial participation.Using modem communication technology and computer technology to read and process the meter data can solve the difficulties such as the simple structure, meter node single function,low real-time accuracy,and time-consuming challenges of traditional electric meter reading system.It has very important significance on making economic benefits,enhancing informationization level and even making management decisions of the power system.In recent years ZigBee technology is a kind of bidirectional wireless communications technology for automatic and wireless control.It has features like close quarters,low power consumption,low data rate,low complexity,low cost,and the network characteristics of great capacity,short delay,safe and reliable.So that ZigBee technology with above advantages provides a better choice for automatic meter reading system's development.To adopt ZigBee wireless network protocol,using free frequency band to communicate,collaborative testing user's electro-situation,dynamic networking,and communication of automatic routing become hotspots for research in field of automatic reading meter system.In this background,this paper explores the automatic meter reading system based on ZigBee as the main contents to research.Specific works are mainly summarized as follows:Firstly,the topic background is introduced and domestic and foreign researches at present are discussed.The opportunity of wireless meter reading system's development is booming,and the main feature and the technical specification of ZigBee technology are summarized.Then,the ZigBee protocol is good studied.Firstly presents the key concepts,and then explains the functions of ZigBee physics layer,MAC layer,network layer and the application layer in detail.After that,the important and difficult questions occurred in the process of system design are deeply researched.According to the specific application of meter reading system,the wireless routing protocol with simple network structure and most convenient as well as shortest path is designed and simulated;also the security mechanism of ZigBee technology is discussed in detail.In the situation of that taking the asymmetrical encryption algorithm applied to ZigBee has great potential,this paper also does certain research and simulation on elliptic curve encryption algorithm.Finally,the overall design of the ZigBee meter reading system is gived,including the network topology structure and the main function of system different equipment nodes.Then the network operation and data transmission mechanism are introduced as a whole,and hardware and software design proposals were given in detail.
