The Research Of Rural Wireless Meter Reading System Based On ZigBee

With the construction of national intelligence network, it comes up with higher requirements for the collection of rural electric power data. The rural electric automatic meter reading technology can greatly improve the real-time and accurate meter, overcome the disadvantages of past artificially meter reading. It is also the necessary technology for pushing ladder electricity in our country. This advantages have great significance for improving power enterprise's the level of the intelligent.This paper was designed a automatic meter reading system based on wireless communication, which is suitable for rural power grid application of. Now automatic meter reading system in the market is mainly applied in city network or district in local power grid. In these applications, the system economics demand is low, but, if it is applied to rural power grid, it need high economy demanding. So in order to reduce the terminal node's economic input, this system uses a communication manner with ZigBee technology and GPRS technologies. Through the ZigBee technology, we can achieve communication collector and concentrators, because the cost of ZigBee node was relatively low, so it greatly reduces the node economic investment, and realizes the economy better. This paper is mainly made up collector node with the software and hardware designed. Collector's main function is to collect and preserve electric meter data, at the same time, electric meter data is uploaded through concentrators command. Terminal generally uses battery-powered, then the requirement for low power consumption is particularly prominent, so this collector's microprocessor chose ultra-low power 16 of MSP430F149 microcontroller. ZigBee communications uses TI company's wireless chips CC2420 which is used wildly; Collector must long time preservation for electric meter data, this collector's design extends EEPROM chip. In software design, because the realization of collector function is complex, so we use modular software design method.
