This paper developed an ultrasonic wave oil level measurement instrument which is supplied for small and medium petroleum exploitation enterprises。It monitors oil well petroleum output of oil production plant.Chip computer system is the core of Ultrasonic oil level measurement instrument, and using ultrasonic wave as detecting signal means for oil level detecting and data processing, reducing artificial intervention during measuring, facilitating the real-time monitoring of oil level to workers.The ultrasonic wave oil level measurement instrument is composed of hardware circuit and software program these two parts. Hardware circuit design of the system includes ultrasonic transmitting circuit, receiving circuit, temperature measurement circuit, power supply circuit and processor peripheral circuit. Software program includes the ultrasonic driver, temperature acquisition program, software filtering algorithm and communication driver etc. The software design adopts modularization program design idea which can make program structure clear, high operation efficiency and stability, easy debugging and modification too.For the cross sectional area of oil storage tank is very large, when the height has tiny change, petroleum reserves have changed a lot. So it is very important to improve measuring accuracy of ultrasonic wave oil level measurement instrument. Besides various interference factors made ultrasonic wave measured data differ with actual data, measured data may be abnormal fluctuation. To obtain stable and accurate measurement results, this paper first introduces how to improve oil level measurement instrument from the hardware and then introduces the software for data processing. On the software processing method, it removes the data from the original measurement data first, then processes by using average value method, finally analyzes measured data of ultrasonic wave oil level measurement instrument by using least square method, builds mathematical model, and programming process. It obtains good measurement effect.The ultrasonic wave oil level measurement instrument developed with the computer technology and ultrasonic distance principle has advantages such as non-contact, automatic control, high speed and precision, low cost, powerful function. It has a widely foreground and use value.
