With the development of the Inner Mongolia’s prairie highway in recent years, the traffic flow of prairie highway grows day by day. The prairie highway has the characteristics such as terrain flat, sparsely populated, monotonous landscape, it also has the particularity in alignment, landscape, traffic, and luminous environment. Due to driving speed is often higher than the design speed in prairie highway, it is easy to burst a major traffic accident with low accident rates of the total at the same time. Visual organs are the main way that drivers get information, so carrying out the study of driver dynamic visual characteristics has very strong guidance to the prairie highway construction and avoiding the terrible traffic accident. We select the drivers of different driving level as experimental sample, use the eye tracking system of iView X HED to collect the eye movement parameters of drives on the typical prairie highway by free speed, and take the BeGaze, Excel, SPSS and other software to analysis the video frame by frame, and process the statistics data, then obtain the regular pattern of drivers’ eye movement parameters. The paper puts forward firstly that the distribution function of the fixation time is lognormal distribution, of saccade amplitude are the exponential distribution and the power function distribution, and of saccadic velocity is the Pareto distribution on the environment of prairie highway.Confirming the distribution patterns of eye movement parameters is helpful to compare the differences under the different road traffic environment and the variation characteristics of drivers’physiological indexes under prairie highway landscape environment; It accumulates data basis for reaching the model between speed and dynamic visual search scope, and the forward direction fixation distance and side direction sight scope on the conditions of dynamic speed; It provides qualitative reference for determining effective landscape space area coverage of drivers’visual information; The conclusions of paper have referenced meaning for afforesting of road-region environment on prairie highway and planning and management of grassland landscape, also provide the reference basis for alignment design and safe driving.According to non-parametric test of different proficiency driver sample, it concludes that the proficiency has significant influence on driver’s dynamic visual characteristics in prairie highway traffic environment, design and setting up of the functional facilities with visual guide should be taken into consideration to the specific conditions of the unskilled driver to avoid driving risk; This have an important role and significance for ensuring driving safety and reducing potential accident on the prairie highway.
