Along with the development of the traffic, highway tunnel has been extensively applied, the number and mileage of highway tunnel is in rapid growth. The highway tunnel was regarded as the bottleneck road section of highway network, it's inclining to happen traffic accident, and the after-treatment is also difficult to treat with. Relevant data analysis indicated that majority of highway tunnel traffic accident mainly related with driver, and drivers rely mainly on the visual system obtain traffic information, primarily on fixation. Therefore, it is very important for the traffic safety to study the driver's fixation characteristic in the highway section of the tunnel.This paper is based on highway tunnel environmental characteristic, accident characteristic and the study of the driver's dynamic visual characteristic, confirmed cumulative fixation time, average fixation time, fixation duration, pupil area and location of fixations as preferences of the fixation behavior. A number of drivers accord with the experiment requirements carried the experiment at the highway super long tunnel road. We record eyes move data through Eyelink used in the experiment, analyze the characteristic of each fixation parameter, use BP neural network to analyze the effect of lamplight belt on fixation duration and pupil area, use fast cluster to divide fixation areas and analyze the characteristic of fixation areas in each section of the super tunnel.The examination shows that cumulative fixation time, average fixation time, long time fixation duration and pupil area in each section of the super tunnel is greater than other sections; the difference of cumulative fixation time and average fixation time in each section of the super tunnel is not big; it is reasonable to divide driver's fixation into five areas; there is the highest percentage of the long time fixation duration in the entrance of the super tunnel, the pupil area increases rapidly and the location of fixations complete a distribution change which is from scattered distribution to longitudinal long and narrow distribution, to scattered distribution; there is the highest percentage of the short time fixation duration in the exit of the super tunnel, the pupil area decreases rapidly and the location of fixations complete a distribution change which is from scattered distribution to longitudinal long and narrow distribution, to scattered distribution; light zones have significant effects on driver's fixation duration, pupil area and distribution of fixations, it is effective in relieving driver's visual fatigue and improving driver's attention.
