Partial discharge in insulation is one of the most important factors that affect safeoperation of the low-voltage circuit breaker cabinet. The insulating internal partial dischargemeans there is a localized defect, and this process will inevitably continue to develop duringthe entire run,, and it will result in insulation breakdown and damage when reaching a certainlevel. The test of the partial discharge characteristics of the electrical equipment are aneffective method of prevention in low-voltage circuit breaker failure. The traditional testtechniques rely on the check of insulating properties, on one hand, the cumulative damageeffect of the solid insulation equipment, on the other, the equipment must be power outages,resulting in the customer service reliability decline.This paper analyzes the current domestic10kV feeder circuit breaker cabinet partial discharge, to make a brief summary of its maindetection technology and do a research of its live detection theory, the detection technologyselected TEV assays mainly theoretical analysis, ultrasonic detection explore the direction ofthe law, supplemented by a combination of science and technology projects, the appropriatechoice of equipment (multi-function partial discharge detector (UltraTEV Plus+), etc.),develop rigorous experimental strategy, in Zhanjiang Power Supply substation10kVswitchgear Council put live testing, access to a wealth of experimental data. In the partialdischarge detection, selects the location of the fault, respectively, located in the rear upper ofthe switch cabinet, the middle of the switch cabinet and the under of the switch cabinetsubstation having a representation of the fault condition, elaborated data analysis process, tofind the equipment failure interval.
