As a result of orbit traffic project is a huge investment, long construction period, complex system, involving a wide range of long-term system project, so for the track traffic construction must undertake the city rail transit network planning studies, determine the overall planning orientation and design concept, the city rail transit and intercity rail transit the organic link do a good job, city, inter-city rail transportation planning.In this paper, taking the rail transit line network planning as the object of study, from the current situation of our country starts with the background, unifies the domestic and foreign related theory and practice, through to the city rapid rail transit system analysis, for the future of city traffic development in the future planning to provide guidance and basis, so as to guide Weifang city rail network planning direction, promote city comprehensive transportation sustainable development. In this paper, taking Weifang rail traffic planning as an example, analysed Weifang city rail transit construction needs to carry out the technical work, as well as the construction of the feasibility and necessity; summarizing the domestic and foreign development of rail transportation on the basis of experience, put forward Weifang city track traffic system hierarchy, function positioning, development goals and principles of the layout planning; the commonly used three methods for network scale prediction, put forward Weifang city rail transit network plan and city track traffic organization scheme.
