Application Study Of Aromatic Plants In University Campus Landscape

Since the reform and opening up, China’s higher education has been developing rapidly. With the further improvement of campus planning theory, more importance has been attached by people to the campus landscape, and thousands of years of cultural background makes the profound campus culture penetrate into every details in campus environment. Aromatic plants can not only enrich the landscape dimension, beautify the campus environment, purify air, also fragrance emitted can relieve life on teachers and study pressure on students. Aromatic cytokine released has certain healthcare functions, which is important for creating a campus landscape, and there are commons between aromatic culture and humanistic culture. Through the combination of aromatic plants and campus,"tangible" aromatic plants can foil "invisible" humanistic and scholarly culture on campus.Taking aromatic plants and campus landscape as the objects, this paper which uses literature induction, investigation and summary, makes field research on the application of aromatic plants in campus landscape, based on several theories of botany, landscape aesthetics, landscape ecology, environmental psychology and some related ones, to discuss the application of aromatic plants in campus landscape, mainly including the following conclusions:(1) Analyzing the application of aromatic plants in landscape architecture. The types and characteristics of aromatic plants, on the basis of literature review, are summarized, so does the cultural connotation of aromatic plants and its role played in landscape architecture, and the application principle of aromatic plants and some problems are proposed.(2) Discussing the application of aromatic plants in campus landscape. From the aspects of nature, culture and society, this paper analyzed the formative factors of campus landscape, and matching relationship of aromatic plants with other elements combining with botany, landscape aesthetics and behavioral psychology, which concludes the same parts between campus culture and aromatic plant culture and presents its application forms in campus landscape, as well as sums up its role in the Landscape. (3) Applying the theories about aromatic plants in campus landscape to the concrete examples in renovating campus. Aiming at the current situation of "incense axis"---Hunan Agricultural University campus landscape, this paper analyses the Status quo of campus culture of Hunan Agriculture University and combines it with aromatic plants to design and transformed the landscape axis of "incense axis".Campus is an important place of making theoretical research, walking in the forefront of social development. The campus landscape design should be combined with the campus culture, and subject characteristics combine to make aromatic plants achieve multiple characteristics of aromatic plants, which is undoubtedly the best catalyst.
