The profile optimization is to use mathematical model to optimize the shape of profile after the highway horizotal alignment is decided.Whether the design of profile is well or not directly determines the size of earth-rock.Profile optimization can provide reference for engineering design staff, improve the line design quality, reduce the labor intensity of workers and reduce the road construction costs.Besides,it can protect the facilities along the road and the original natural environment.And it has an important influence on the local cultural environment also.In this paper, the genetic algorithms and profile optimization design combine organically. Based on the applied mathematics, the mathematical model of profile optimization design is established,which is based on genetic algorithms.It takes the road construction project cost as optimization target,and with a grade change point mileage and elevation as variables.According to profile optimization problems of actuality, this article improves genetic algorithm appropriate to make it more applicable to profile optimization problem.On the basis of the diversity of the population evaluation, this paper determines the adjustment method of selection, crossover and mutation operator adaptive. According to the initial solution of the profile to establish a feasible region.On the basis of the solution of coding individual, using genetic algorithm to automatically generate the next generation.Then evaluate the feasible solution with an evaluation function.Finally it can choose the optimal solution.On the basis of genetic algorithm, this paper validates its feasibility through an example. The research shows that the genetic algorithm is applied to the profile optimization design is feasible and effective.It can realize global optimization and has a broad prospect of research and application.
