Research Of The Lifter’s Rapid Design Based On SolidWorks

Rapid Design is a key technology which needed to solve urgently in present enterprises. Syetematically research of mechanical product’s rapid design theory, methods and techniques and their corresponding software development platform enable enterprises to set up a response mechanism of product’s innovation and rapid design/manufacturing which is a primary problem solved in urgent. In order to respond quickly to the market demond, improve the level of design, Tieling Changtian Electrical and Mechanical Co., Ltd. hopes to establish a three-dimensional rapid design system.Based on this demand, this paper developed a rapid design system of lifter based on SolidWorks. According to the three-dimensional CAD design software, SolidWorks, using the OLE technology, the rapid design system of lifter is established.In the platform of the three-dimensional CAD design software, SolidWorks, database of products and components is created as the background database through SQL server, interface technology of SolidWorks and programming language of visual Basic6.0are utilized, calling SolidWorks API function, to achieve the rapid design system and interactive use of SolidWorks and Visual basic. System is mainly divided into six modules:querying of Product Data Module,determing the size of new parts and accessing the template file, solid modeling model, automatic assembly module, automatic generation of engineering drawings and database management module. The modules is compiled into a SolidWorks add-ins, and then link to SolidWorks as a menu, which make it use easier.In the course of the study subjects,firstly the theories and techniques of rapid design are discussed.secondary studied the secondary development of SolidWorks technology,and parametric design technology for rapid design. By analysising the contend of this subject, develope the overall framework of the system and maked choice of development platform, and then establishe product database and parts database,develope six functional modules, added them to an add-in. In user interface design, and application design, practicing again and again, as to improve the study method of secondary development of SolidWorks.
