Research On Traffic Impact Analysis Of Residential Construction Projects Based On TransCAD

With the accelerated process of urbanization in China, part of the city has beeninto a large-scale urban construction and land-use development phase. Urbantransportation and land use affect each other, good urban traffic environment canenhance the value of urban land, and to promote the efficient use of urban land.Traffic demand of urban land development and construction projects to promote theconstruction of transportation infrastructure, while improving the utilization efficiencyof the transportation system. However, the large-scale construction with the pursuit ofeconomic efficiency will also appear the phenomenon of the disorderly urban landdevelopment and overuse, and it can easily lead to generation of urban transportproblems, to restricting urban health development. Traffic impact analysis is thetechnical methods that puts into use on a construction project, the newly generatedtraffic demand to evaluate the degree of influence to the surrounding transportationsystem running, and develop appropriate measures to abate the traffic impact ofconstruction projects It is a powerful tool to promote the development of thecoordination of land use and transportation systemsthe. Residential land is the startand end points for the majority of the residents travel,and accounts for a largerproportion of in urban land development. It is of the main sources of urban traffic.Therefore, it is necessary to study traffic impact analysis about residential projects.On the base of basic theory of traffic impact analysis, and combined with theactual project, taking residential project as the research object, this paper focuses onthe study of application of TransCAD in traffic impact analysis. First, clear the basicconcepts and the basic principles of the traffic impact analysis. On the basis ofanalysis of the relationship of land use and urban transport, summarizes the trafficcharacteristics of the residential projects and the process of traffic impact analysis;Second, summarizing existing research with the combination of “Technical standardsof traffic impact analysis of construction projects”,study on the determination of thebasic parameters of the traffic impact analysis, including thresholds of traffic impactanalysis, sphere of influence, target year, evaluation date and evaluation period. Andthe basic parameters of research projects were analyzed; Then, focus on the study tothe use of TransCAD in the demand forecast traffic impact analysis. On the basis ofsummarizing the existing background traffic demand method, proposed use ODmatrix estimation to predict the amount of background traffic. Clear the roadmap andkey technologies of OD matrix estimation, and the trip productions and mode split method of new generating traffic demand by construction projects was stduied. Andthe application of traffic distribution and assignment method of TransCAD in overlaytraffic forecasts was stduied; Finally, combining theoretical research, the analysis ofthe of actual residential project on the surrounding transportation system was made.
