The traffic impact analysis is the important means for scientifically, rational transportation facility planning, land development project and improvement of traffic organization and traffic management. Its purpose is to evaluate and analyze the impact range and intensity of increasing traffic volume to the ambient transportation facilities when it come into operation, and then the relief countermeasure or revise the scheme can be proposed in order to maintain a certain service level, to implement compensation plan, so that to reduce the negative effects that the project brings, to mitigate the pressure produced by the incremental volume of traffic that project initiate to the ambient of road system.According to the characteristics of traffic impact analysis, this thesis analyzes the coverage and degree of traffic impact of large scale cultural and sport infrastructures on urban transportation, establishes a series of traffic impact assessment measures, specifies the matching degree between traffic demand and future transportation facilities supply, and therefore determines the relief countermeasures or improvement plan in terms of maintaining a certain service level so that it can reduce the negative impact of construction project to the minimum extent.The traffic impact analysis of large scale cultural and sport infrastructures on urban transportation systems in this thesis is studied as followings:Comparing the existing methods of deterring the coverage of construction project traffic impact, this paper proposes the way of deterring the coverage of construction project traffic impact on the ambient traffic facilities in terms of degrading one class of service level threshold to the ambient road network and intersections.According to the characteristics of construction projects in different urban areas, this paper uses different traffic volume forecasting process to estimate the future traffic volumes, and by use of various traffic generation rates for different land use, the impacted traffic generation forecasting models due to the construction project is established.According to the characteristics of traffic impact of large scale cultural and sport infrastructures on urban transportation, this paper uses the traffic impact degrees that the service levels of road links, road network as well as road intersections decrease one level as the evaluation measure and evaluates the project traffic impact on urban transportation.This paper applies the process to a specific project which is a large scale sport infrastructure (a sports gymnasium). The traffic impact of constructing the gymnasium on the impacted urban area and transportation system is given in this paper and by using traffic simulation software the system operations before and after the gym in use are analyzed and evaluated. Then the rational traffic organization methods and the traffic improvement countermeasures are proposed.
