With the development of new technology and the improvement of modern life, lighting isnot only a lamp but also need to satisfy people’s visual aesthesia and express the atmosphere.A lamp which is energy-saving, long-life, with good lighting effects and easy to control is thelamp people pursuit. But the traditional lighting control system can only perform the simpleon-off control function. Therefore we designed an intelligent lighting control system base onZigbee and LabView. Besides the normal light functions, this system can change the color andbrightness of the lamb through local and remote control. It meets the needs of today’s marketand improves people’s life efficiency and qualities. This system is not only suitable for houseliving, but also can be applied to the stage, KTV, hotels,etc.First of all, this paper introduces the ZigBee technology(including its origin,development and features), analyzes the recent lighting control technologies and comparedthe ZigBee and other wireless technologies, then explains why choose ZigBee technology asthe wireless control method of the intelligent lighting system.Secondly, this paper proposed the system design principles based on people’s needs andmarket developments, given the overall architecture of the lighting control system andselected the appropriate hardware components and designed suitable circuits board dependingon the system design. Then analysed system software architecture and chose a combination ofC/S and B/S software architecture. And compartmentalized different software funtionmodules.Third, Further insight into the ZigBee communication technology, introduced the ZigBeeprotocol stack structure and ZigBee network topology, by designing the system embeddedsoftware, we realized the function of system wireless network communications, serialcommunications, and lighting switch control, color change, brightness adjustment and others.Fourth, Introduced the LabVIEW network technology and its programming method,designed the software application of the lighting control server monitoring system. Finally, the function of entire system was tested and testing result show that this systemreached the anticipation of system design.
