Process design is an important link in production process of mechanical products.Furthermore, it is a key factor which can influence the products cost, quality and ability ofrapid response to customers. Therefore, all of the manufacturing enterprises hope that theexisting resource of process design and design experience could be able to be inherited anddeveloped completely for the improvement of process information degree. Thus, based on theprocess design of projectiles and rockets as the research object in the paper, the parameterizedprocess planning of projectiles and rockets was implemented and the construction of systemarchitecture was studied by means of establishing the process template of typical parts usingthe3D parametric process models as the core and the process template of typical processingoperation and combining with the parametric design technology.Firstly, the research status at home and abroad about the3D CAPP technology, theparameterized process planning technology based on template customization and thenetworked collaborative design and manufacturing technology were introduced. Meanwhile,design principle of parameterized process planning technology based on templatecustomization was elaborated, which took the3D parametric process model template as thedesign core.Secondly, the full-related that between the template design of3D parametric processmodels and the process cards template were put as the main line which of the parameterizedprocess planning of projectile and rocket parts based on template customization, the specificresearch of key technologies were as follows:(1) Projectile and rocket parts’3D parametric process models template design. Includingmodeling method and principle of3D parametric process models of parts, the specific designprocess of process model, and the rapid definition technology of process models based on theReversed order Backward Method was put forward, the model information expression and theinformation extraction technology based on features to traverse.(2) The parametric process cords template customization technology, including the establishment and parameterization of process route model, process cords templatecustomization technology, parameterized modeling principle and drawing methods wereconcluded, on the basis of that, the specific content of parametric process variant designtechnology was formulated, driving mechanism that put forward by3D parametric processmodel as the starting point and operation drawing automatic adjustment technology wereproposed, the process route and the process card variant were completed.(3) The construction of system architecture of parameterized process planning ofprojectiles and rockets in LAN environment and the hierarchy model of function; The mainfunction modules: database management module, parts process variant module, parameterizedprocess planning module, process drawing adjustment module; the establishment andmanagement of knowledge-engineering library.Based on the process design of some type howitzer missile body as an example in thepaper, a prototype system was developed at last.
