The electric vehicle has unparalleled advantages in energy saving and environmental protection, such as efficiency, energy saving, low noise, zero pollution and other significant advantages, and it has attracted national attention as an important issue in new energy using. The research and development of electric vehicle charging device is aiming at electric vehicle, and the charging device will gain more and more attention as an important supporting equipment to promote electric vehicle’s development. With the purpose of realizing intelligent charging on electric vehicle and the charging device being monitored and managed by the whole charging station, research and design of electric vehicle charging device communication network is an important task.This paper has studied the specific application of embedded systems which used in communication system of electric vehicle charging device, and used the solution of modular and structured to design and debug the system’s hardware and software, and realized communication function in the all charging device. The communication system mainly includes three parts. The communication between the electric vehicle and the charging device is to determine whether they are well connected, it can also control the charger output power of the car according to the upper instruction. The part of communication between charging device and the energy meter can realize to read the energy consuming, current, voltage and other important parameters in the process of charging. The communication between charging device and the background monitoring system by Ethernet can realize the real-time monitoring.This issue is researched based on the ARM9microprocessor and embedded Linux operating system. In the hardware implementation, it has used a hardware development platform as the basis for secondary development, and designed the hardware circuit of communication with the electric vehicle part. In the software implementation, it has developed program based on on the Linux operating system according to national standards, industry standards and the related communication protocol.
