With the continuous development of the automotive industry and the increasingappliance of automotive electrical and electronic equipment, automotive electronicstechnology has become a core technology in current automotive design anddevelopment. With the increasing the demand for automobile from the ordinaryfamiliy, the automotive industry is gradually becoming a sunrise industry, and thebooming automotive industry give impetus to the automotive electronics andelectronic control technology. Many new technology areas come to being associatedwith the automotive industry development as well as the continuous progress ofautomotive electronics technology, and Telematics is one of them. Telematics achieveautomotive networking information sharing between different automobile. Thedevelopment of Telematics needs complete industrial chain, which includesautomobile manufacturers, terminal manufacturers, telecom operators. TelematicsService Provider (TSP), related service providers and so on, and, the developmentof Telematics also needs the relevant technical support, including wirelesscommunications, satellite positioning, radio frequency, vehicle bus, car diagnostic. Atpresent, the cars with basic function of Telematics have appeared in foreign, while thesingle function in this area is being developed in national laboratories.Vehicle information terminal equipment as a core part of the Telematics hasbecome the research focus in this object. Vehicle information terminal equipment isdeveloped in this object, which is based on ARM Cortx A8core processor inhardware and the Linux OS in software. This terminal equipment can transport CANbus data, GPS data, image data, driver’s identity information data, car failure data andso on to the remote server by3G or WiFi wireless network. After that, the server cananalyze these datas, and ctransport the result of data to the client. The anlysis could be viewed on client. Client can send snapshot command, speech synthesis data, read faultcodes command, clear fault codes command and the configuration parameter such asdata collection list and data acquisition frequency through the server.The first chapter describes the background of the vehicle information system,then introduces the research status of the vehicle information system, and pointed outthat the relatively backward reality of domestic vehicle information. Then, thesignificance of the subject is discussed from the point of view of domestic trafficconditions and Intelligent Transportation. Finally, it gives an overview of theembedded Linux wireless transmission vehicle information platform research.The second chapter describes Linux software platform, developmentenvironment building, communication protocols and other technical backgroundknowledge of vehicle information platform. Then, the overall design of the system isdescribed in the third chapter, including functional requirements analysis, hardwareselection, data storage solutions selection, the formulation of the overall framework ofthe software as well as related communication protocol development.The main function modules of the vehicle information platform are specificallydesigned in Chapter IV and Chapter V. Chapter IV introduces the3G module PPPdial-up, WiFi driver porting process, and design a complete network communicationoff network reconnection program. which introduces network communication socketprogram basis of3G and WiFi. Chapter V introduces the software design of the mainfunctional modules, including the design of the car GPS positioning module, protocolparsing function module design, data package function module design, the lowermachine communication function module design, GPS antenna failure reportedfunctional module design, the LPC1766lower machine design.Finally, By means of the supporting server program, each function of the systemis tested and the robustness of the overall system has been tested, which achieves thedesired design requirements.
