With the constant increasing of highway construction and traffic, the existingmanual traffic capacity of the toll station could not meet the requirements of the speedypassage of vehicles. Using Electronic Toll Collection(ETC) can effectively solve thisproblem. In this paper, we focus on the design and implement of DSRC protocal datalink layer based on the analysis of ETC system.The ETC system includes two parts: one of them is road side unit(RSU), and theother is on board equipment(OBU). The RSU communicate with the OBU using DSRCprotocal(the dedicated short range communication) completing bargain process. TheDSRC protocal is a kind of short range wireless communication protocols, which isapplied exclusively in the intelligence transportation field. It defines three layers:physical layer,data linker layer,and application Iayer. The inland DSRC protocal isbased on the frequency of5.8GHz. It is a standard of interactive communication in thesingle or double directions between on board equipment(OBU) and road side unit(RSU).And with the help of this protocol, the roadside and vehicle unit are connected perfectlytogether. Thereby the transportation control center can manage the vehicle with thecommunication data of the driving vehicle. At the same time. the vehicle can connectinto the transportation information network and use the information resources in thenetwork. Firstly, this thesis introduce the ETC system, and introduce simplyarchitecture of ETC system. Then we focus on the theory, designing idea andarchitecture of DSRC protocal, and then analyse and realize the Media Access Controllayer(MAC) and logical link control layer(LLC), which constitute DSRC data link layer.On these basises, through field testing of its communicationprocess, we can veilfy theconsistency performance and stability of the protocal.Finally, we indicate the weaknessand shortage of our design and implement for DSRC protocal.
