The application of vehicle bus technology is a limestone in the history ofvehicle electronics, which brought a new era in the development of vehiclesdirectly. Now, most of the protocol standards applied on vehicle networksystems are based on CAN bus, of which J1939has become the standardprotocol in the medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicle systems and introducedinto the national standard, which speeds the application of vehicle bus in ourcountry. For ECU (electronics control unit) using J1939protocol, its research anddevelopment, application and failure tests requires a large amount of datacollection and corresponding processing work. The dissertation is based onthe problem and a set of network monitoring and control system isdeveloped. It uses USB technology as its information transmission medium, which, I hope, can benefit the tests of ECU in J1939protocol specification.Firstly, after demand analysis on J1939networks, the system functional components are determined, an embedded system as both of a CAN nodeand a USB device and a monitoring and control terminal which can displayand process data.Secondly, after a fully understanding of CAN bus and J1939busprinciple, a ARM chip-centered embedded system is designed andcorresponding modal driver is programmed, which makes it have bothfunctions of CAN node and USB device, an monitoring and controlinterface on the demand of data processing is designed and fulfill the searchfor custom USB device and function of each modal on the interface. Finally, through the waveform comparison of system, test on its abilityof receiving and transmitting data and experiment on safety inspection car,the system can be used to monitor and control J1939network and its modalcan function well.
